Lesson #1: List Building
There is an old saying: "how fat is a sales person bank account has a lot to
do with the length of his/her prospect list " In internet marketing, the
same holds true. You've a great product and excellent business concept.
Armstrong EcoSynergy has got it done for you. But no one is going to do
business with you if there are not listening to you. Your prospect list (in
internet marketing, we call them email list) is your starting point.
Email marketing is the most cost-effective and fastest mode of communication
today. You just need to pay for your ISP and a phone line. You can
communicate with thousand and thousand of messages at a click.
THINK ABOUT IT.
People, especially important people with the purchasing power; are more
likely to read (listen to the sales person) a mail than finding time to
listen to a sales talk. And if you set out your email system with a quality
auto-responder software, your chances of getting across your point of view
is enhanced even further.
So, step # 1 is to build your list. This is how you do it.
Organize all existing email addresses into two categories, (Where? You might
ask. Well!, get out all the name cards you have been collecting through out
your career. Chances are you will find the newer one would have an email
address.)

You've got a good start. However, if you have anything less than 100, don't
be despair. That's the very reason why we are here.

If you want to send this page to email list, this is what you do:

Click FILE on the main menu, select SEND PAGE BY EMAIL;

An email dialog box open up. enter the recipient email addresses. You
can add more recipient names by using cc. and b.cc.

At the "ATTACHMENT OPTION" button on upper right of the email dialog
box, select "SHARED DOCUMENTS". This will display your email webpage on
the document workplace instead of sending in as an attachment file.

When finish, click SEND.
Your friend will read your mail because you send it. But of course, make
sure that your name is displayed clearly as a "sender". Why is that so? Have
you heard of "spam", i.e. sending out unsolicited mails, recent legislations
have made spamming illegal practice. Therefore, it is essential to obtain
permission before sending our your mail.
You don't have to worry about spamming with this single-page mail because
you're sending it to people you know. You already have permission to
communicate with them.
What happen after this? The moment you friend read the mail, two things
possibly happen;
If your friend likes the idea and click to obtain more information further,
you would have successfully completed step 1 of your e-marketing campaign.
If your friend didn't do anything with it, don't worry because people
normally do not make up their mind that fast. We will talk about how to
create sequential email marketing some time in the future. Like standard
advertising, it takes repetition in order to get people to first absorb the
message, understand it and then ultimately take action. Naturally, some
people will immediately respond while others need to see the message more
than once before they even think about responding.
Remember, each individual has his/her set of specific buying behavior.
Research has shown that the market place is broadly divided into five (5)
groups;

Early majority (34%)

Late majority (34%)

Laggards (16%)
Innovators are risk takers and they are
venturesome. They usually respond much quicker to change or new ideas.
Early adopters are impulsive and respond to
new ideas early - taking action soon after the innovators do, albeit a
little more careful.
The bulk of the market consist of the "middle
majority (68%)" This is where you should focus your marketing concept.
We will cover the various strategies to
convert the majority (68%) into your camp. Be patient!
Secondly, you can choose to rent-a-list from such companies. If you wish to
do this, please ensure that you're dealing with reputable companies. These
companies have huge data base of email addresses of people who opt-in to
receive messages from others. Renting a list could cost you between 5 to 20
cents per deliverable message. Anyhow, remember to include a disclaimer such
as this one:
"This message is in
full compliance with the United States Federal requirements for commercial
email under bill S.1618 Title III, Section 301, Para. (a)(2)(c) passed by
the 105th United States Congress concerning spamming. This message is not a
spam as it includes the requisite removal mechanism. Further transmission by
the sender may be stopped at no cost to you. Just click the word
"UNSUBSCRIBED" in the subject line.

laws in the United States and we oppose spamming."

public all over the world who join you would be providing the necessary
consent for your email communication; hence no spamming here.
